Mike Reid, Executive Chef at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, is a passionate and accomplished culinary expert. With over two decades of extensive experience, Chef Mike has consistently delivered exceptional dining experiences and set new benchmarks in the hospitality industry. Mike is Red Seal Certified and has honed his skills in many prestigious establishments including Marriott and Accor hotel brands. Mike's culinary journey at ‘the Castle in the City’ began 2006-2012, when he worked as Chef de Partie. In 2024, his return to Fairmont Hotel Vancouver as Executive Chef was a proud, full-circle moment. Chef Mike now oversees the hotel’s culinary operations, including leadership of the Notch8 Restaurant team, banquets, and in-room dining. Before rejoining the Hotel Vancouver team last year, Mike’s dedication to culinary excellence was evident in his remarkable achievements and progressive culinary positions, including Fairmont Vancouver Airport, the Westin Bayshore, and as Executive Chef at Delta Vancouver Suites. 

As a graduate of the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts program, Mike's approach to cooking is driven by a relentless pursuit of creativity and discovery, ensuring that every dish reflects his passion for the culinary arts. Outside the kitchen, Mike enjoys golfing, travelling, gardening, and, of course, cooking.
